California Socialite Sentenced for Fatal Hit-and-Run

Rebecca Grossman Receives 15 Years to Life in Prison

Tragic Loss of Innocent Brothers

On Monday, California socialite Rebecca Grossman was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for the deaths of two young brothers, Mark Iskander, 11, and Jacob Iskander, 8. The boys were struck and killed by Grossman's speeding car while they were crossing a street in a crosswalk in 2020.

Grossman's Actions and Consequences

According to court records, Grossman was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Her reckless behavior resulted in the tragic loss of the two innocent children. After the incident, she initially fled the scene but later surrendered to authorities.

During Monday's sentencing, Grossman expressed remorse for her actions, stating that she was "horrified and devastated" by the deaths she had caused. However, her words did little to alleviate the pain and grief of the Iskander family.

Justice Served, but Hearts Unhealed

The judge in the case, Michael Pastor, described the sentence as "just and appropriate" given the severity of Grossman's actions. He stated that the punishment was intended to deter others from engaging in similar reckless behavior and to hold Grossman accountable for her crimes.

Despite the verdict, the Iskander family continues to mourn the loss of their beloved sons. No amount of punishment can bring them back, and the pain they endure will never truly cease. The tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of drunk driving.
